Pathology and Phlebotomy Services Recovery Update

Pathology services in south east London were subject to a cyber-attack incident on 3 June. Other NHS pathology services supported Bromley GPs to process urgent and high priority testing whilst Synnovis, the provider of pathology services in south east London, completed the rebuild of their IT systems. All pathology testing is now back with Synnovis laboratories and they are fully operational. This is an important step toward local phlebotomy (blood testing) services returning to normal. However, as there is a backlog of patients waiting for a blood test your GP has been advised to continue to prioritise blood test requests to ensure those with the longest waits for a blood test can be seen first. Thank you for your continued patience as services work to recover from the cyber-attack incident.
